COUNTRY MUSIC CHART TOPPER, DREW FISH, HOSTS 6TH SONGWRITERS RETREAT

Rising country chart-topper Drew Fish hosted his sixth semi-annual songwriters retreat this week. The East Texas gathering boasted an impressive group of Grammy Award-winning, seasoned hitmakers including Don Rollins (George Jones, Alan Jackson); Roger Brown (George Strait, Randy Travis); Tommy Conners (Chris LeDoux, Willie Nelson), the new head of BMI Austin, Mitch Ballard, and burgeoning wordsmiths including Jake Worthington, Jon Stork, Wynn Williams, Bradley Banning, David Banning, Kyle Level, James Lann, Austin Moody, Kylie Frey, David Adam Byrnes, Felix Truvere, Tyler Resch, Matt Castillo, Dustin Sonnier, Austin English, Mark McGuinn, Jeff Silvey, Holly Tucker and Jon Rutherford.

We have been fortunate to turn this retreat into a family,” says Fish. “The core group of people that come out to these retreats remains the same and we’ve been lucky to be able to learn from each others successes and failures and help everyone make the most of their careers and write the best songs possible.”

The band’s current radio single, Devil You Know, is at #6 on the Texas Regional Radio Report (TRRR) with hopes of making it the band’s 3rd consecutive #1. Written by Tommy Conners, Roger Brown, and Fish, the song has a honky tonk feel that really captures the Drew Fish Band’s live show feeling. In February, The Drew Fish Band’s last single ‘Better Place’ hit #1 on the Texas Regional Radio Report (TRRR). Produced by multiple Grammy Award winner Adam Odor, the track was co-written with Fish by one of country music’s most celebrated hit makers, Byron Hill (“Fool Hearted Memory” by George Strait, “Born Country” by Alabama, “High-Tech Redneck” by George Jones).   Click here to listen or stream “Better Place now on Spotify.  Watch the video here.

“Better Place” is the follow up to the band’s chart topping single “Flood” which spent two weeks at #1 on the TRRR (Texas Regional Radio Report).

The Drew Fish Band is about to shoot the Devil You Know music video that will be released later this year.  Over 22 million people got a sneak peek of the forthcoming album when The Drew Fish Band made their national television debut last November on Fox and the NFL Network ahead of the highest rated Thursday Night Football game ever between the Dallas Cowboys and New Orleans Saints.
